Inspiration & Obstacles: How Poets Learn with Ruelaine Stokes

Why do poets write poetry? How do we learn such a subtle and complex craft? How do we overcome obstacles that get in our way? How can we invest our poems with the music and magic that allows them to travel the distance to another human heart? Ruelaine Stokes will share poems and stories of the people who have opened the portal into poetry for her. Discussion will follow.

You are also invited to write with her and explore this topic more deeply during an online writing workshop on Thursday, February 27.

Read more about the Poets Laureate series here, featuring five poets in February and March.
