Tour the Roethke House
Tour the Roethke Childhood Home Museum
Visit the Roethke House in Saginaw, Michigan, to experience firsthand the atmosphere that inspired Roethke to write his Pulitzer Prize-winning poems. Walk through the Roethke family home which includes several pieces of original furniture and memorabilia, learn about the poet’s childhood and read some of his poetry, and view the gardens from the sleeping porch where Roethke did much of his writing. The tour lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and can accommodate groups up to ten people per tour.

Please note, due to the historic nature of the home, the building has not been remodeled or updated. Thus, we do not have accessible bathroom facilities or changing tables. Additionally, some stairs are required to enter the home and to visit the second floor of the Roethke House. Seating is available throughout the house. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us and we will provide accommodations to the best of our ability.
