As part of the Open House 2022 weekend, local poet and published author Donny Winter will lead a 90-minute poetry writing workshop on the grounds of the Roethke House from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. In addition to writing, Winter teaches poetry at Delta College and composition at Saginaw Valley State University. Winter's two poem collections, Carbon Footprint (2020) and Feats of Alchemy (2021) garnered him two Pushcart Prize nominations and a Best of the Net nomination. In his free time, he loves being in the garden where he finds most of his inspiration.

Participation is limited to 8 people. Register here to reserve a seat. The workshop is free thanks to funding from Michigan Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
