Help us preserve the poet’s childhood home

As stewards of Theodore Roethke’s childhood home, it’s our mission to preserve and protect it.

The poet’s home is central to the work we do in the community, acting as our main hub for tours, events, and more. And maintaining it comes with regular repairs and special upkeep to keep the historical integrity intact.

Funding and grants for property maintenance can be difficult to attain. We estimate that these necessary fixes will cost approximately $15,000.

Our current list of projects for the poet’s home include:

• Painting the exterior

• Repairing interior plaster

• Masonry for the front porch

• Fortification for the reach porch
